English Language Pronunciation
Language software programs can be difficult to select. Many can be difficult to use, understand and navigate. One rule applies to all of them. The simpler the better. With PronouncePro™, you will have the most effective, yet the simplest English pronunciation learning system available today.
Here's how it works:
PronouncePro™ is based on “Listen…Repeat…Learn.” The program is an Audio CD and illustrated short book. The book includes clear diagrams and illustrations. These illustrations show you how to form the sounds of American English while the learner listens and repeats as instructed. There is not an easier or more effective system to improve speaking clarity and accent reduction of American English. The Audio CD is separated into 15 clearly marked tracks.
In the first section of the PronouncePro™ Learning System CD, the sounds are repeated 5 times. Words that contain the target sound are then repeated. Individual sounds within words will be bolded. (Visit the Products Page for an excerpt from PronouncePro™ Learning System book.)
Each track includes instruction and / or illustrations to help you correctly pronounce sounds, words and phrases.
Track 1: Vowels Vowels can be confusing to a learner of American English. This track takes you through vowel production and repetition step by step.
Track 2: Schwa Sound Schwa is the most commonly found sound in English. The schwa, represented by this symbol “ə”, appears as an unstressed syllable in many English words. Pronouncing schwa sound correctly can dramatically improve your English pronunciation.
Track 3: B, V, W, Wh The sounds on this track require lip movement. Clear illustrations and instruction help you to produce these sounds accurately.
Track 4: R,L R and L can be challenging to English learners, especially Asian speakers. Proper tongue placement is important. Clear illustrations guide learners effectively.
Track 5: M,N M and N are nasal sounds. Airflow through the nose is indicated and able to be practiced.
Track 6: Th, T, D Th sound, both voiced and unvoiced, is common in English, but not so in other languages. Illustrations showing proper tongue placement and air flow help learners create and maintain this difficult sound.
Track 7: Ch, Sh, Zh Sound Airflow and tongue position are clearly illustrated in this track.
Track 8: Other Important Sounds: This section instructs the learner in other important English sounds.
Track 9: Consonant Blends Consonant blends are two or three consonants at the beginning of a word. They can be difficult to pronounce. PronouncePro™ covers consonant blends and gives instruction on proper pronunciation.
Track 10: Common Problem Numbers and Words Correct pronunciation of numbers is crucial to our lives and professions. Number practice, as well as practice with difficult words, is included in this track.
Track 11: “ed” Endings For Regular Past Tense Verbs Regular past tense verbs, as well as some past participles, end in “ed.” There are three separate pronunciations for the same spelling. PronouncePro™ gives English learners clear rules and pronunciation patterns of “ed” endings.
Track 12 – 15: Everyday Dialogues Dialogue practice will help you hear the intonation, or music, of American English. Every language has a rhythm. English uses a “Jump Up Step Down” intonation pattern. Dialogue practice helps you understand and reproduce this rhythm.
PronouncePro™ system uses the regular American alphabet. The Learning System does not use the IPA or International Phonetic Alphabet. PronouncePro™ was designed for ease of use and effectiveness. Learners will find our symbol system in a Standard American English Dictionary.
Listen…Repeat…Learn. This is the PronouncePro™ System. It is easy to use and effective. It is designed to help you reach your goal quickly.
